Finally the butterflies for C's room are finished and up. For all those who wanted to know what origami pattern I used - this handy video on YouTube seemed the easiest way to demonstrate. I don't do it the same way as Sara does - but we achieve almost the same result. At the last stage I fold the point to the edge of the paper and not beyond it - so we end up with a slightly different shape. If that's confusing, let me know and I'll post a photo so you can see what I mean. I had no idea that there were so many different ways of folding a butterfly! I feel another Flickr group coming on!
I've been wanting to make C some soft shoes for ages. She was given a couple of pairs as presents but has nearly grown out of them and as they seemed really simple I thought I'd just make a pattern from them and enlarge it. Then I found this . . . and thought that all the hard work had been done for me! But alas - they don't quite work around the back on C's feet and so I've had to make my own pattern up anyway. The tutorial is great for instructions though. Thank you Joanna! You can't see it but they are lined with strawberry fabric too - very cute - I'm such a girl.
We have taken it in turns to be ill this week - and being ill with a baby is no fun. Any new distractions have been gratefully leapt upon and include my latest ebay purchase . . .
The look of joy on her little face when you sing the horse song and rock her is quite something. I'm quite completely in love.
Have good weekends. xxxx
Oh - I forgot - for the people who wanted the origami butterfly pattern - it will be here tomorrow. xx
