I also love banana plants

The weather man on the radio said that we might have some ground frost tonight and that Autumn is very much on its way. But that didn't blight my good mood because it feels more like summer at the moment than it has done for all of August and I refuse to believe that we're not going to have a balmy September full of warm evenings and G & T's in the garden. The garden was beautiful when I got home today. Sunshine was pouring through the fence and making pretty patterns on the banana leaves. Of course - it had gone in by the time I'd fetched my camera - but you get the idea . . . As I look at this photo I realise how weird our garden is - a banana, a crab apple tree, a yucca, a silver birch, some catmint, roses and of course euphorbias. I'm not much of a gardener. I would add a 'yet' to that - but actually I don't think I ever will be. I'm quite happy when space is filled and things are green. Even happier there are flowers. I will never stop being thrilled when in April the garden suddenly bursts into bud - and I haven't done a thing. Garden

I adore . . . Euphorbias

Barro
With our house being stripped to its bones  next spring we have the opportunity to change its colour. But oh how hard it would be to decide. I keep dreaming of beach-side pastel houses - but our house isn't at the beach - not at all near in fact.
There is a terrace of different coloured houses just off King's Road and they are very lovely indeed - but I can never make up my mind which one I would want to live in .  . . the blue one is too cold, the pink -  too sugary, the green  - too green . . .
I bet we stick with white.

I found these photos when I was looking for some inspirational colours - they were taken in Sardinia a couple of years ago.The light was beautiful that holiday - the kind of light that makes greens really vibrant and blues really slate coloured. I haven't adjusted the saturation - the Euphorbia really was that green.
By the way - I have a bit of a thing about Euphorbias.
